History of the beginning of the international scientific-technical conferences takes us to the seemingly not-long-ago year of 1993. In preparation for the 30 - anniversary of the formation of the department "Industrial Electronics" KhPI, it was decided to organize a conference in "Power Electronics in solving problems of resource-and energy-saving" (RES-93), with a purpose of exchanging scientific - technical information and consolidation of scientific forces to meet the challenges of energy saving in industrial processes and transport, the use of power and control electronics.

On the idea of holding the conference responded to experts in the field of transformers of the Commonwealth of Independent States, and it was held in the month of October on the Sport-Recreation Center NTU "KhPI" "Studentchesky"  (Alushta). Beginning in 1996, International Scientific Conference (now the "Power electronics and energy efficiency ") has become an annual and steadily expands its representation of professionals. Last international scientific-technical conference SEE'2011 conducted on the  Sport-Recreation Center NTU "KhPI" "Studentchesky" National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute " (Alushta, Crimea) from 19 to 23 September.
